Hyperlinking

A TreePad article can contain hyperlinks to other TreePad articles or to other files on your computer. The other file does not have to be a text file.

Follow a hyperlink by placing your cursor within the link. Then

  • Right click and choose Go to > Hyperlink or
  • Press [Ctrl]+H

Inserting hyperlinks within TreePad

  1. Select the node for the article you want to link to.
  2. Right click and choose Copy node > As Hyperlink Address.
    (Or press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+H.)
  3. Paste the link into the article you want it to appear in.

You can also type the link using this format:
"node://<path to node>"

A link to this article, for example, would be:
"node://Manual Introduction/Special features/Hyperlinking"

Inserting hyperlinks to another file on your computer

  1. Place your cursor where you want your link to appear.
  2. Right click and choose Insert > Hyperlink to File.
    (Or press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+F.)
  3. Find the file you want to link to and click Open.

You can also type the link using this format:
"file://<path to file>"

For example:
"file://C:\WINDOWS\Freecell.exe"
